Group Fitness classes are free for members ages 14 and older as part of your Trager Family JCC membership. The descriptions of the classes are listed below.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Les Mills BODYPUMP™ (ALL LEVELS): The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. Using high intensity with high repetition and low weights, this class builds lean muscle mass and burn calories set to fast paced music.
Aqua Boot Camp (All Levels): This is not your grandma’s workout. Combine wall exercises, buoyancy equipment and high intensity aqua fitness moves to challenge the heart. Get ready for a challenging calorie burning water workout.
Better Balance (ALL LEVELS): Created with seniors in mind, this 30-minute class focuses on building core strength through standing balance exercises. These gentle and effective movements can improve flexibility, mobility and posture, as well as reduce back pain and lower the risk of falls through improved coordination. Various props may be used.
Boot Camp (INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED): Ready to try something new? This is one powerful class! Get in shape with traditional and non-traditional military style exercises.
Cardio Challenge (ALL LEVELS): This cardio class has something for everyone. Get your daily dose of cardio through high/low aerobics, step, interval training and a splash of weight training to top it all off.
Chair Light Weights (BASIC): For beginners and active seniors, this class incorporates weight bearing and muscle resistance at a slow pace, isolating each muscle group with proper breathing and stretching techniques.
Club 60 (ALL LEVELS) This is a low impact water class designed for senior adults. Aqua chi as well as aqua yoga is incorporated into the class while concentrating on stretching, balance and breathing. This is a great class for seniors who need arthritis exercises and enjoy being in the water.
Cycle (ALL LEVELS – UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED): Sweat and burn calories to keep yourself in top shape. Classes are led by a certified instructor who will coach you through the ride of your life. Add this intense class to your cross-training regime. (See detailed cycle descriptions online.)
Deep Intervals (ALL LEVELS): Through the use of a flotation belt, this workout uses intervals of work and rest to increase cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. This class focuses on burning calories and improving your fitness level using timed intervals. It is a challenging workout for both new and seasoned exercisers.
Deep Water (ALL LEVELS): Flotation devices are used for this no-impact workout. A great class for exercisers with joint issues, participants work in a suspended environment. The workout includes cardio-conditioning along with strength and stretching.
Fit & Firm (BASIC): This class will help develop strong muscles and increase your cardio endurance while integrating flexibility to create a complete exercise program for your entire body. The class starts with 30 minutes of low impact aerobics followed by strength training and stretching.
Fit & Firm lite (All Levels): 25 minutes of low impact aerobics, 25 minutes of strength training and 5 minutes of stretching for a total body workout.
Gentle Nia (BASIC): A modified version of Classic Nia, Gentle Nia uses easy-to-follow movements to build strength and flexibility while conditioning your body.
Gentle Yoga (BASIC): A slower-paced class that reduces stress and improves balance and flexibility through basic yoga postures, breathing techniques and use of props.
HIIT (INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED): This HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout uses intervals of work and rest to increase cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. Through intense or modified movement, new or seasoned exercisers can work at their own level and enjoy a uniquely challenging and calorie-burning workout.
J-Barre (ALL LEVELS): Is a high-energy group exercise class that fuses fitness techniques from Pilates, Dance, and Yoga combined with fluid athletic intervals. J-Barre is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with an added cardiovascular endurance element.
Junior Fit Squad: A fun, high energy fitness class to build strength, improve endurance and boost confidence for members ages 11-14.
Light Weights (BASIC): For beginners and active seniors, this class incorporates weight-bearing exercises, light weights, and resistance bands while standing, sitting in a chair and lying on the floor.
Mat Pilates (All Levels): Exercises that focus on improving strength, flexibility, balance and posture through precise movements, controlled breathing and muscle engagement.
Moving to Heal (BASIC): Learn to slow down and personalize movement to fit your body while focusing on the sensation of feeling better move by move, breath by breath. Improve feelings of wellness regardless of physical condition.
Muscle Blast (ALL LEVELS): Get that toned and fit body you desire through strength and resistance training utilizing various weight training, floor exercises and band workouts.
Muscle Blast Plus (ALL LEVELS): Your traditional Muscle Blast class with bursts of cardio throughout the class. Get that toned and fit body you desire through strength and resistance training utilizing various weight training, floor exercises and band workouts.
Nia (ALL LEVELS): Combining dance, martial arts, and mindfulness, Nia tones your body while transforming your mind. More than just a workout, Nia is a holistic fitness practice that combines 52 simple moves to address each aspect of your life — body, mind, and spirit.
P.Y.S.B. (Pilates, Yoga, Strength and Barre) (ALL LEVELS): Increase your flexibility, strengthen and tone your muscles, enhance posture and body alignment and relieve your day-to-day stress.
Step Aerobics (ALL LEVELS): Tone up your legs and booty by moving up, over and around the step. Developed as a way to get a moderate to high intensity workout, this class will improve your coordination by learning choreographed routines that make the hour fly by!
SWITCH! (ALL LEVELS): This is a word that you will hear a lot in this station-based class for all levels. Stations are set up for both cardiovascular improvement and strength training. Participants can enter class and participate in as many stations as desired. Whether you are looking for a 30-minute workout or a 1-hour workout, this group training class is right for you! The trainer is there to motivate you and show you how to do the exercises based on your fitness level for a tailor-made workout. Modifications available.
Tai Chi (ALL LEVELS): Through gentle movements and directed breath practitioners build inner strength, flexibility, and enhanced balance and coordination. Tai chi is appropriate for all body types and fitness levels.
Walk 15 (ALL LEVELS): Low-impact cardio, providing the opportunity to walk 3 miles by using your own 4’x4′ space. Burn calories and build stamina while getting in some fun steps!
Water Blast (ALL LEVELS): This is a high-energy, shallow water, aqua fitness class to blast the calories and crank up the metabolism.
Water Walkers (Basic): This low intensity class will offer gentle movements to aid with mobility.
Yoga (ALL LEVELS – UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED): Build a strong foundation for a regular yoga practice with a sequence of pranayama (breathwork) and asanas (body postures) that will improve your flexibility, strength, and endurance. (See detailed yoga descriptions below.)
Zumba Gold (ALL LEVELS): A modified dance class for active older adults that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity. Routines incorporate interval training-alternating fast and slow rhythms-to help improve cardio fitness.
CYCLE
Cycle Fit (All Levels): An energizing class designed to challenge riders of all fitness levels through varied terrain that may include interval training, hill climbs, speed drills and endurance. Cycle Fit offers modifications and progressions to meet your individual goals.
Cycle Fundamentals (ALL LEVELS): This class will take you through the basics of cycling using an all-terrain design. Instructors will cue participants through body positioning on the bike along with correct cadence and resistance.
Cycle Intervals (ALL LEVELS) This high-energy class will take participants through a series of intervals and active recoveries.
Cycle Power (INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED) High Intensity cycle with high energy instruction. This class will leave you sweating and burning an incredible amount of calories in an hour!
Happy Hour Cycle (ALL LEVELS) Work hard and have fun in this “anything goes” cycle class. Each Friday will be unique and different so start your weekend right by burning calories and releasing the tension of a long week!
Road Ride (ALL LEVELS) This journey simulates group road riding, breakaways and drafting. You’ll climb mountains and sprint like a pro, even if it’s your first ride. Visualize your victory and get ready to sweat!
YOGA
ALL In Yoga (ALL LEVELS) We believe that everyone deserves the mind-body experience of yoga. This inclusive class connects participants to a practice that is energizing, empowering, fun and accessible to all. Open to all levels and wheelchair accessible. Ages 10 and up.
Beginning Yoga (BASIC) Build a strong foundation for a regular yoga practice with a sequence of pranayama (breath work) and asanas (body postures) that will improve your flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Cardiyoga (ALL LEVELS) Sweat your way to Savasana! This fusion of yoga and HIIT is the perfect combination of a great cardio workout coupled with the toning, stretching and mindfulness of yoga. A challenging power yoga warmup is followed by 15 to 20 minutes of high intensity interval training and concludes with a yoga cool down full of feel-good opening stretches and releases.
Chair Yoga (BASIC) A gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting. Some poses can also be done standing using a chair for support. Chair yoga can improve your flexibility, concentration and strength while boosting your mood and reducing stress and joint strain.
Flow Then Slow (ALL LEVELS) Flow then Slow is an original concept that aims to invigorate and restore – all in 60 minutes. Participants will begin the first half of the class with a dynamic power yoga flow to warm up and strengthen all the major muscle groups. For the second half, the focus will be on deep, connective tissues and restoration of mind and body. This is a unique, holistic approach to yoga that you’re sure to enjoy!
Gentle Yoga (ALL LEVELS) A slower-paced class that reduces stress and improves balance and flexibility through basic yoga postures, breathing techniques and use of props.
Hatha Yoga (ALL LEVELS) In this class, postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body with an emphasis on simplicity, repetition and ease of movement. Full body relaxation and balance are the goals.
Power Yoga (Intermediate/Advanced) An intense yoga workout for all levels. Power Yoga has many of the same Vinyasa flow qualities and benefits including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.
Yoga Flow (ALL LEVELS) A Vinyasa inspired practice to improve your flexibility, strength, and balance. Perfect for all levels, from beginner to yogi, this class will keep you moving from Sun Salutations to Savasana.
