Memberships may take up to 5 business days to process. In order for everyone to fully enjoy the Trager Family JCC, the following rules and regulations have been established. Any violation of the rules and regulations may result in loss of privileges and/or termination of membership.

• The membership card/fob issued to you is your official JCC identification. It is nontransferable. You must use your membership card/fob to check-in every time you enter the facility. If you do not have it, you will be asked to show a valid photo ID. While on the JCL campus, your membership card/fob or ID must be shown upon request of any staff member. Immediately report lost or stolen cards/fobs to the membership office. The card holder is entitled to guest privileges in any other JCC, YM or YWHA affiliated with the JCC Association. The privileges are subject to the rules and regulations of the participating center.

• By providing your e-mail address, you are automatically subscribed to the e-newsletter and JCL Community Update. It is understood that the Jewish Community of Louisville (JCL) may send you periodic information on programs and events via e-mail. Your e-mail address will be kept private and not sold or shared with any outside vendor.

• By opting-in for text messages, you agree to receive recurring text messages from the Jewish Community of Louisville to the provided mobile number and also agree to the JCL terms and privacy policy. It is understood that the JCL may send you periodic information on programs, events and building closures via text message. The JCL will keep your mobile number private and will not sell or share it with any outside vendor. Message and data rates may apply. Text  “STOP” to unsubscribe at any time to 502-289-8832.

• All membership rates are subject to change with 15 days’ written notice.

• The Trager Family JCC may videotape or photograph participants enrolled in programs, classes, and/or while enjoying the facilities. These photographs are for JCL publications, flyers, publicity efforts, brochures, web use, other electronic communications or video usage. All photos and videos are for JCL use and become the sole property of the JCL.

• In consideration of being permitted to utilize the Trager Family JCC, the user for itself, user’s family members, next of kin, employees, agents, representatives, heirs and assign-ees (referred to as User or User’s) does herby release, wave and discharge the JCL, its directors, officers, employees and agents from all liability, including bodily injury, death, loss or damage, from any claim or demands whether caused by the negligence of the User’s or otherwise while the Users are in, upon or about the premises including use of any facilities or equipment therein. Further, the Users agree to indemnify, defend, save and hold harmless the JCL from any loss, liability, damage or cost they may incur at or away from the premises, including but not limited to use of equipment or facilities, regardless of whether such harm is caused by the sole or partial fault of the User.

• If a member’s use of the JCC is of considerable risk to their health or safety, or to the health or safety of other members, a health care professional medical release form may be required by JCL senior management for the individual to continue to utilize the center and its services. Failure to provide said medical release form could result in the suspension or cancellation of the membership.

The outdoor campus closes at dusk and re-opens at dawn unless there is an officially sponsored or approved event or other use approved by the JCC administration.

The JCC is not responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen while on the property. Please make sure to secure your valuables in a locked vehicle and/or locker. Should an item be lost or stolen, please inform JCC Security immediately at 502-238-2754. Should a lost or stolen item be located, it becomes your responsibility to properly identify the item and claim it within 30 days. The JCC and its staff will make every effort to return found items to the original owners; however, the JCC claims no responsibility for securing these items.

THE JCC IS OPEN AND ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF AGE, RACE, RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN OR SPECIAL NEED. FOR THOSE IN FINANCIAL NEED, MEMBERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH APPLICATION AND QUALIFICATION.

Policies / Limitations

Guests must sign in, complete a waiver form with emergency contact information, and pay upon entering the building or pool gate.

All guests must be accompanied by a member unless approved by the Membership Director.
Members are limited to no more than two (2) guests at a time.

Each in-town guest, 18+, may visit the center no more than 6 times/year, May 1 – April 30.
Members of another JCC may use the facility up to 15 times/year, May 1 – April 30.

Guest privileges may be revoked at any time without refund for inappropriate behavior or failure to follow JCC policies.

Building / Pool

0-4 Year Olds: Must be accompanied by Parent / Guardian (14 and Over) or in program
5-11: Must be accompanied by Parent / Guardian (14 and Over) or in program
12+: May be dropped off unsupervised
14+: May be responsible for someone 11 and under

Fitness Center

11-13: May use weight equipment after taking Teen Exceed program
14+: May use fitness facility and take group fitness classes

Program Registration Policy:

• Please present your current JCC membership card at time of registration.
• Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Payments may be made by cash, check, VISA or Master Card. Fees must be paid at the time of registration.
• Program Registration is now available online.
• All classes must meet minimum enrollment requirements. The Center reserves the right to cancel an activity because of insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. A full refund is given in this case.
• If a participant withdraws from a class or activity before the session has started, an 80% refund will be made. The remainder will be retained to cover administrative costs.
• In the event a class is canceled, a full refund will be made. A refund check will be issued and mailed within six weeks.
• No refunds are made for any reason after classes begin.

Membership to the Trager Family JCC is based on a twelve (12) month commitment calculated from the date of enrollment. After 12 months, you will be automatically renewed indefinitely until a membership cancellation form has been received. Members must provide the membership office with 30 days’ written notice of cancellation.

• New members have 30 days from the date of enrollment to cancel their membership without penalty. Refunds for these cancellations will be processed minus any applicable pro-rated fees. After the initial 30-day period, a $150 cancellation fee will be charged when cancelling within the first 12 months from the date of enrollment.

• Exceptions: A member may cancel their membership within the first twelve (12) months of enrollment without penalty for the following reasons:

• If upon a doctor’s order, due to a medical condition, you can no longer participate in services offered at the Center.
• You move more than twenty-five (25) miles from your current residence or fifty (50) miles from the Center, whichever is greater.
• In the event of death, the member’s estate shall be relieved of any further obligation for payment

The Center may require reasonable evidence for any of the reasons for cancellation.

The JCL will issue NO REFUNDS for membership fees. Cancelling at any time before the end of the contract for any reason other than those stated above will result in a $150 fee.

The Trager Family Jewish Community Center of Louisville is committed to providing a welcoming environment for all members and guests. To promote a safe, encouraging, and inviting environment for all, we ask our members, and their guests, to act appropriately and respectfully at all times when in our facility, participating in our programs, or engaging with us on social media. We expect persons using the Trager Family JCC to act maturely, behave responsibly, and respect the rights and dignity of others.

Our code of conduct outlines certain prohibited actions, detailed below. However, the actions listed below are not an all-inclusive list. Any behaviors or actions not on this list but considered in violation of a good-faith understanding of the code of conduct will be at the discretion of management staff. All of the below conditions pertain to members, their guests, and staff. Suspension or termination of membership privileges may result if a violation of the Trager Family JCC Member Code of Conduct has occurred.

• Smoking on the Trager Family JCC campus is prohibited.
• Carrying or concealing a weapon or any device or object that may be used as a weapon is prohibited.
• Using or possessing alcohol, unless at a Trager Family JCC sponsored or approved events, is prohibited.
• Using or possessing narcotics, or illegal drugs is prohibited.
• Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing behavior is prohibited.
• Respect others’ privacy. Taking photos or videos without consent is strictly prohibited.
• Physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive, or threatening way is prohibited.
• Verbally abusive behavior, including angry or vulgar language, swearing, name-calling, or shouting is prohibited.
• Sexually explicit conversation or behavior, or any sexual contact with another person is prohibited.
• Clothing with offensive language or pictures is prohibited.
• Theft or behavior that results in the destruction or loss of property is prohibited.
• Loitering causing annoyance or alarm to other members or staff within or on the grounds of the Trager Family JCC Campus is prohibited.
• Members are responsible for their guests and will ensure they comply with gym policies.
• Giving access to the Community Center or Campus to non-members without payment of guest fees is prohibited.

In addition, the Trager Family JCC reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has been accused, charged, or convicted of any crime involving sexual abuse, and is or has been a registered sex offender. Anyone having been convicted of any offense relating to the use, sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit-forming and/or dangerous drugs, or persons presently or habitually under the influence of dangerous drugs, chemicals, narcotics, or intoxicating beverages may be denied entry and/or membership.

Anyone who feels uncomfortable or notices inappropriate behavior should report the incident to a staff person or the Manager on Duty. Our staff members are here to assist you. In an effort to carry out these policies, we ask that members and guests identify themselves to staff when asked. Management will investigate all reported incidents.
