Alexander really did seem to have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, but in its debut public performance on March 4 at the Jewish Community Center, CenterStage’s Acting Out professional children’s theater company had a wonderful day.
As the actors brought Judith Viorst’s classic children’s tale to life, they kept their very young audience engaged, and every time Alexander exclaimed, “I’m having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day,” the children chimed in with him.
With large movable boxes as the basic elements of the set, the cast easily and quickly moved from one scene to the next, creating a fast-paced, easy to follow story.
Kudos to the company as they take Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day out into the schools.
