The J Patio Gallery is proud to host the twelfth annual Mazin Art Exhibition, November 27-January 3. More than $1500 in award money to be handed out. Artists from Louisville and beyond are invited to enter the show, juried by Joey Yates, Curator for KMAC Museum. Entries must be completed after January 1, 2014. All types of work are eligible except jewelry and works created for class projects. All entries must be submitted by October 28, 2016.
This year’s juror is Joey Yates, the curator for KMAC Museum. Yates joined KMAC in 2012. The museum focuses on the relationship between contemporary, folk and traditional craft art. He recently curated Simone Leigh’s solo exhibition Crop Rotation and was co-curator for White Glove Test: Louisville Punk Rock Flyers 1978-1994.
The Mazin Annual Art exhibition was conceived and created by Bernice and Benjamin Mazin in partnership with the Jewish Community Center’s Visual Art Committee.
“In 1999, our mother established the Benjamin and Bernice Mazin Visual Arts Second Century Fund. The fund was endowed because of her love for the arts and her desire to give local artists, new and experienced, a venue for exhibiting their work,” said Judy Hummel.
