The JCC Maccabi Games will be held on July 31-August 5th , 2022 in San Diego, California. The games will be hosted at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center JACOB FAMILY CAMPUS. Jewish Teens between the ages of 13-16 are eligible to participate. Athletes must be at least 12 years old to apply and CANNOT have turned 17 years old as of July 31 the year of the Games.
Team Louisville will be featuring 8 athletes in individual and mixed teams’ sports competitions including basketball, flag football, ice hockey, baseball, soccer, table tennis, volleyball, swimming, golf, esports, and dance. The 2022 JCC Maccabi Games® will also include Olympic-style opening and closing ceremonies and a community service day. These events each aim to bring the San Diego Jewish Community together for a week of spirit and celebration.
This year the cost of participating in the 2022 JCC Maccabi Games is $1200, this is all inclusive of travel (~$600), uniforms, Games registration fee ($545) and all outings and meals during the week of. All participants, parents and adult stakeholders (coaches/chaperones, spectators, and VIPs) that are interested in attending the games in San Diego, must be fully vaccinated.
The JCC Maccabi Games offer Jewish teens a unique social, cultural and life-shaping experience. The Games bring athletes from around the world together and serve a larger purpose than athletic competition. They promote Rachmanus (compassion), Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World), and Amiut Yehudit (Jewish Peoplehood). These sentiments are shared during the week through unique experiences.
