Strap on your shin guards, lace up those cleats and dust off your soccer balls, Sunday Family Soccer is almost here!
The Jewish Community Center is excited to introduce a soccer program for families each Sunday during the month of May for children in kindergarten through third grade and their parents. The sessions are from May 1 to May 24 and last from 2:15-3:15 p.m.
Children and parents will compete in a total of three games each Sunday with tournaments added in during weeks three and four.
Director of 4Kicks for Kid, Gionatan Surrenti, will teach basic skills and then give players a chance to use them during small-sided games with their parents.
Senior Director of Youth Services and Camp Betsy Schwartz said Sunday Family Soccer will be fun for the entire family.
“Our Sunday Family Soccer program affords families the opportunity to be active together and enjoy learning, playing and being silly, while each youngster, and possibly even their parents, learn the basics of soccer,” Schwartz said.
Schwartz also said Sunday Family Soccer is a great way to prepare for the Soccer Cosmic Cup and Triton Trophy soccer camps this summer.
Sunday Family Soccer is $45 for The J members and $50 for non-members. Each registered child gets a T-shirt. To register, visit jewishlouisville.org/sundaysoccer.
