Klal Yisrael, the community of Israel, stretches from Louisville, KY to Tel Aviv, Israel to Kiev, Ukraine and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Where we live doesn’t really matter. We’re all part of part of the Jewish community, and we are all responsible for taking care of each other.
Each year, a portion of our Jewish Community of Louisville Annual Campaign dollars go to the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) through the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) to fulfill our responsibilities to Jews at risk around the world. But what do our dollars do.
On Wednesday, February 24, at 7 p.m. at Standard Country Club, Danielle Mor, an emissary for JAFI and JFNA and the vice president of the Israel Education Fund, will speak about securing the Jewish future and the impact our dollars have in Israel at a 2010 JCL Annual Campaign Event. A minimum commitment of $1,000 to the 2010 Campaign is required to attend this event.
“Faith in Our Future” Annual Campaign Co-Chairs Todd Blue and Lior Yaron encourage donors to come hear this gifted speaker.
Mor serves as a Shlicha (emissary from Israel) to New York, and in November 2008, was appointed as vice president of the Israel Education Fund and frequently helps members of the Jewish community understand the critical work JAFI does.
Mor was born in Connecticut, U.S.A. and made Aliyah to Israel with her family when she was 4 years old.
She served in the Israeli Air Force as an officer in the Planning Division and was released at the rank of Lieutenant. After completing her military service, Mor went on a short Shlichut as an emissary on behalf of the Jewish Agency to “Camp Ramah New England,” where she served as the camp’s drama director.
She graduated cum laude from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, majoring in International Relations and Sociology and later completed a Masters degree in Organizational Counseling also from the Hebrew University.
Mor has been employed by the Jewish Agency since 2000, at first working with the chairman of the Executive, Sallai Meridor, and since 2005, in the Department for Resource Development and Public Affairs as a Director of Donor Relations.
Mor and her husband, Shlomi, have a three-year-old daughter, Ariel.
Those present at this event will have the opportunity to make their pledges to the JCL’s 2010 Annual Campaign.
