Dogs for a Dip at the JCC Pool

On Sunday, September 23, more than 100 dogs and their human companions jumped into the JCC Pools to close the summer. Doggie Dip is back at the JCC!

Dogs went for a swim in the family and wading pools to close out the summer swim season. The Outdoor Lap Pool remains open until Sept. 30 when the temperature is above 60 degrees. Just like children, the dogs had a great time playing with the new jets and bubblers in the wading pool and jumping off the side of the pool after toys.

Several area canine agencies also stopped by, including No Kill Louisville and Kentucky Humane Society. Louisville Metro Animal Services brought their SPOT truck to educate people about spaying and neutering their animals. One family even found a new member for their family and adopted a dog. Proceeds from the event were donated to the agencies.

Rudy Green’s Doggie Cuisine handed out delicious treats for dogs and Feeder’s Supply donated treats and toys. The Doggie Dip was such a success, the JCC will continue the program after Labor Day again next year!
