Courier-Journal Covers Cycle for Good

You can raise money for charity by joining a stationary bike challenge Dec. 9 at Jewish Community Center of Louisville, 3600 Dutchmans Lane.

Riders will pedal for one to five hours as part of Cycle for Good, a fundraiser that will benefit Special Olympics. It costs $25 an hour to ride or you can solicit sponsors.

The event, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., starts on the first day of Hanukkah, and similar rides will be taking place at Jewish Community Centers across the country.

“We wanted to do something good in honor of Hanukkah and also bring light to how good cycling is for you,” said Tara Stone, an indoor cycling instructor and Cycle for Good coordinator.

Anyone may participate. “They do not have to be a member,” Stone said.
