CenterStage Bares All in The Full Monty

LOUISVILLE, KY (April 18, 2012) – Down on their luck and short of cash, six unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo, NY decide to bare it all in CenterStage’s next production. Under the artistic direction of John R. Leffert and written by the Tony Award winning team of Terrence McNally with music and lyrics by David Yazbek., The Full Monty will be presented at the Jewish Community Center May 10-20, 2012.

With nothing left to lose when their factory closes down, the six become male strippers, like the ones their wives and girlfriends love to watch on their girls’ nights out. But will they have the self-confidence and swagger to take it one step further and go the “full monty,” baring all while dancing?

CenterStage veterans Pete Lay (Jerry Lukowski) and artistic director, John R. Leffert (Dave Bukatinsky) lead the cast toward the titillating and hilarious finale. Returning from CenterStage’s 2008 production are CenterStage veterans, Frank Goodloe (Horse) and Jeremy Moon (Malcolm). Rounding out the six is Brent Gettelfinger (Harold) and David Beach (Ethan).

The Full Monty is about so much more than stripping.  That’s only the last few minutes of the show.” says CenterStage Artistic Director, John R. Leffert. “It is a show about real people and their everyday struggles, with a tremendous amount of heart.  While you might come to see it thinking only about “the full monty,” by the end, you’ll find yourself cheering for these guys not only for their dancing, but for their courage, strength and heart.”
