Are you ready to get down and dance while a DJ keeps the music going, laugh and have fun with your friends when a local young comedian who’s popular at clubs and on campuses around the country takes the stage, to have a good time in a photo booth and to enjoy good food and drink?
If you are, and you’re a young adult, you’re invited to the annual YAD Campaign event on Saturday, February 2, at 7 p.m. at The Pointe.
Raanan Hershberg grew up here in Louisville and is a graduate of Eliahu Academy, but today, he’s on tour and in demand at clubs and colleges all across the country, honing his craft in some of the top rooms in the nation.
He was selected for this year’s Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival, and was a finalist in the 2012 Funniest Person in Cincinnati Competition. He has worked with many acclaimed comedians, including Jim Jefferies, Godfrey, Charlie Murphy, Rory Scovel, and Jonathan Witherspoon.
He’s carved time out of his busy schedule for a stop back in his hometown just for this event.
“He’s extremely funny and very intelligent,” YAD Event Co-Chair Keren Benabou said, “and when it comes to a Jewish crowd, he knows how to work it. … The point of the whole community and YAD is to help Jewish people and places – to support the community.”
This will be a fun party, Co-Chair Faina Kronenberg added, “where everybody can let their hair down.”
Heavy hors d’oeuvres will served and drinks will be provided by Heaven Hill.
The cost is $36 per person or $25 for guests 29 and under.
This is also a 2013 Federation Annual Campaign event, so those in attendance will have the opportunity to make their pledges that night.
The 2013 Federation Campaign YAD chair is Ariel Kronenberg. The Ben Gurion Society co-chairs are Beth and Michael Salamon. Ben Gurion Society members are young adults who make leadership gifts to the Campaign of at least $1000. The 2013 YAD Fundraising Event chairs are Keren Benabou and Faina Kronenberg.
The event hosts for the evening are Tracy and Mark Geller, Heather and Seth Gladstein, Kate Kastenbaum, Jenna Koff, Laurence Nibur and Laura Pearson, Elizabeth Post, Shannon and Ed Rothschild, Abby and Barrett Tasman and Ben Vaughan.
RSVP online at jewishlouisville.org/yadevent or to Mary Jean at 238-2739 or mjtimmel@jewishlouisville.org by January 28.
