Seventeen young adults celebrated Shabbat together at The Temple on Friday, August 19. Participants chose either a traditional Reform service or a creative Aleph service, then they came together to recite the Shabbat blessings with Rabbi David Ariel-Joel and share a vegetarian dinner with an ice cream bar for dessert.
To round out the evening, Rabbi David played two episodes of the hit Israeli TV series, Srugim, for the group. The series features a group of modern Orthodox young adults living in Israel, and portrays their struggles with dating, marriage, jobs and living in the modern world.
