Warhols, Given to Kosair by Bass Family, Now on Display at The Speed

In the spirit of collaboration, The Speed Art Museum and Kosair Children’s Hospital have partnered to present a wonderful exhibition of 10 pieces of art by world-famous artist Andy Warhol that had been donated to the Hospital by the Lewis Bass family.

As medical science has proven that visual stimulation of the brain by looking at art improves your health, the Bass family’s set of Warhol’s striking Myth series prints is now on display to honor the care given to patients at Kosair Children’s Hospital.

Until now, these engaging works have been behind closed doors, and the Bass family is delighted that they are now available for the public to view. This is the first time that the greater Louisville public can enjoy Warhol’s take on iconic fictional characters like Dracula, Superman, the Wicked Witch of the West and Mickey Mouse.

Kosair is most grateful to the Lewis Bass family for their generous gift, and The Speed is pleased to present the paintings, which are on display at the museum through October 31.
