Pizza for the Pantry Raises More than $6,000 for JFCS’s Food Pantry

Pancakes turned into pizza for the annual Jewish Family & Career Services fundraiser held on Sunday, August 12, that supports the Sonny & Janet Meyer Family Food Pantry Fund. A record crowd of 288 people attended Pizza for the Pantry at Wick’s Pizza on Goose Creek Road. Guests hung out with family, friends, colleagues and the community to enjoy 76 steaming hot, gooey, delicious pizzas.  Everyone had a blast!

More than $6,000 was raised thanks to a record number of tickets sold, a generous matching gift from Bonnie Bizer and a per ticket contribution from the Rabbi Robert Slosberg AJ Discretionary Fund. These funds will be used to help clients get emergency food, Kroger gift cards and cleaning supplies when they are in need.

Imagine falling on hard times and having nowhere to turn. JFCS is there to help pick up the pieces of shattered lives, help rebuild new education and career paths and connect people with resources which will help them become self-sufficient and self-confident.

JFCS thanks Lisa and the whole staff at Wick’s for tasty pizzas and great service.
