JCL Middle School/High School Sports Kickoff Draws Crowd

“The Jewish Community of Louisville’s Sports Kickoff for Jewish middle and high school teens was a huge success,” said JCL Middle School Director/Jewish High School Teen Director/Sports Director David Siskin, following the Sunday, October 23, day of competition and play.

The Sports Subcommittee helped plan and organize the day to ensure all participants enjoyed themselves. More than 50 teens from both middle and high school youth groups participated.  The JCL campus was flooded with young sports enthusiasts ready to play in the GaGa tournament, ultimate Frisbee game, and dodgeball competition.

The JCL is committed to bringing back sports leagues for teens, and will focus on specific sports in the future. “The Kickoff was just the beginning,” Siskin said. “Now we can focus on the sports that the teens want to play. It wil

l include an eventful sports schedule at the JCC that any Jewish teen can participate in.

“If you missed the JCL Sports Kickoff,” he continued, “don’t worry because we will be having monthly sports days and will continue to offer events and programs like this one in the future.”

The JCL Sports Kickoff offered a wide variety of sports to all athletic levels and different age groups, resulting in a day filled with fun and energy.
