On Yom HaShoah, award-winning Philadelphia journalist David Lee Preston, a son of Holocaust survivors, will discuss his discovery of his mother’s Polish writings from her 14 months hiding from the Nazis in the sewers of Lviv in 1943-44, and will read passages translated from those sewer notebooks. A finalist for the 1986 Pulitzer Prize in feature writing, Preston returns to Louisville for his third Yom HaShoah visit after speaking at Bellarmine University in 2013 and 2018.
