Sunday Night Live at Virtual AJ

March 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us this evening as we welcome Michael Signer – Former Mayor of Charlottesville, VA. The topic is: Reckoning with Charlottesville: Lessons from the “Unite the Right” Rally.

Michael Signer was the Mayor of Charlottesville during the deadly “Unite the Right” rally held on August 11, 2017. This was a white-supremacist rally where far-right, white-nationalist militias chanted “Jews will not replace us” as they protested the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee. Following the rally, a neo-Nazi protester rammed his car into a group of counter-protestors, killing one person, and injuring dozens of others. Mayor Signer will deliver a vivid, first-person account of the terror and mayhem of the rally, and will discuss how issues of extremism are affecting not just one city, but the nation itself.

Michael Signer is a public scholar, practicing attorney, and an award-winning author of the book “Cry Havoc: Charlottesville and American Democracy Under Siege.”

To participate, pre-registration is required. Registration link is provided in AJ’s weekly newsletter. Subscribe at: www.adathjeshurun.com
