October 7: A Gathering for Remembrance and Prayers for Peace

October 6 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Come together as a community to mark one year since the horrific terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Together, we will honor the victims and join in prayers for peace.

This meaningful event will feature Linor Ein-gedy, an Israeli musician from Kibbutz Mifalsim, located in the Gaza envelope. Alongside her melodies and personal story of October 7, local clergy will lead prayers and moments of reflection together. Louisville’s ShinShinim will also share their stories.

The evening program will include the dedication of a commemorative Nova Tree Grove and Tree of Life mosaic art installation. The eighteen-tree grove will stand as a living tribute to Jewish unity, resilience, life, wisdom, mitzvot, hope, and community. Utilizing the Jewish tradition of placing a stone on a grave as a gesture of respect for the deceased, a mosaic will be permanently installed within the tree grove. For years to come, the tree grove will serve as an open, green space for community members to gather to reflect and remember.
