Adath Jeshurun’s Shabbat Learning Series

October 9, 2021 @ 10:40 am - 11:00 am

Join us today for AJ’s Shabbat Learning Series – 10:00 AM Shabbat Service – 10:40 AM program with Presenter: Jerry Jamner, Creative Consultant for Arts & Ideas at the JCL, speaking on “Resettling Afghan Refugees.”

The United States is in the process of resettling thousands of Afghan refugees. Louisville has begun receiving Afghan refugees with Special Immigrant Visas obtained by serving as interpreters on in some other support capacity. We are also receiving Afghan refugees who have been admitted to the United States on a provisional, emergency humanitarian basis. Helping with their resettlement provides mitzvah opportunities in a number of different areas. Families will need housing, food, clothing, household items, medical care, employment, and much more. Jeffrey Jamner will be discussing the resettlement challenges, as well as ways that we can all offer support.

Program may be viewed on AJ’s YouTube Channel.
