In an effort to provide additional programs aimed at the growing unaffiliated segment of the Jewish community of Louisville, Chabad of Kentucky will be opening a new center on March 25, 2012. This center will provide classes and programs geared to the needs of the entire community. There will be unique offerings for men, women and children.
Each week there will be programs aimed at bringing Jewish awareness and pride to the entire spectrum of the Jewish community. Programs will vary, but will include such things as “Men’s Night Out,” “Women of Worth,” and classes for children. Twice a month, the Chabad Chai Center will offer a program called “Thank G-d It’s Shabbat,” which will include a Friday night introductory service followed by a Shabbat meal emphasizing the joy and celebration of the Shabbat experience. There will also be holiday programming such as a model matza bakery, shofar factory, and Chanukah olive press demonstration.
The goal of the Chabad Chai Center is to ignite the spark within every Jew and encourage each person to grow in their celebration and fulfillment and connection to Judaism.
The Chabad Chai Center is an affiliate of Chabad of Kentucky. The entire community is invited to take part in all programs offered.
