The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was founded in 1913 to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all.” In fulfilling this mandate, the League has become one of the nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agencies, fighting anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, defending democratic ideals and protecting civil rights for all.
ADL’s agenda includes issues involving anti-Semitism, organized extremist activity, advocacy on behalf of Israel, and legal issues including religion in the schools and separation of church and state. ADL’s diversity education program, A World of Difference® Institute, is a resource for schools, businesses and college campuses.
