The Golden Bagel has a new home. Anshei Sfard’s “Holy Rollers” edged out Adath Jeshurun’s “Strikers” by only one pin. The “Holy Rollers,” Myrle Davis, Bill Yesowitch, Si Wolf, Debbie Horvitz and Jerry Fleischer brought the Golden Bagel back to Anshei Sfard.
“Roller” Captain Myrle Davis said, moments after the victory, “ We gave it everything we had and spared no effort.”
Keneseth Israel was unable to defend and fell to third place while the combined Temple Shalom and The Temple team finished last and will share the infamous “Baby Bagel.”
The Golden Bagel Bowl-A-Pa-Louza is a quarterly event sponsored by the Keneseth Israel Men’s Club. It was started three years ago as a way to bring together all five Louisville synagogues for friendly competition.
The next event will be Sunday, November 11, 1 p.m. at Ten Pin Lanes.
