AJ Plans Gala to Honor Clergy

Rabbi Robert Slosberg began his tenure at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in 1981. “The warmth here was infectious,” he recalls, “and has remained so for all of the years since.” He feels he has been treated as a partner from day one. Rabbi Slosberg was joined in 1994 by Cantor David A. Lipp, and the two share a mutual admiration for one another and with their congregants.

In recognition of their many years of service to the congregation, Adath Jeshurun is pleased to invite the community to a gala event planned in their honor at the synagogue, 2401 Woodbourne Avenue, on Sunday, November 20, 6:15 p.m. The cost per person for the dinner is $118, which includes a tax deductible donation of $54. Meal choices include beef, salmon or vegetarian.

Checks are to be made payable to Congregation Adath Jeshurun.

“We have a wonderful evening planned,” says Gala Event Committee Chairperson Georgia Goldman. “There will be a tribute to the clergy, a special video presentation and some surprises in store. Many people have stepped forward to be a part of the celebration and we look forward to sharing this special night with everyone.”

Various levels of sponsorship for the gala are also available. In conjunction with the dinner, a Tribute Journal is being prepared, offering opportunities for individuals and businesses to show their support of the clergy with the purchase of an ad.
