Mazin 2021 : Retrospect

Mazin 2021: Retrospect

In 1999, the Mazin Annual Art Exhibition was conceived and created by Bernice and Benjamin Mazin in partnership with the Jewish Community Center’s Visual Arts Committee. It is a regional, juried art exhibition of 2-D and 3-D artwork, open to artists 18 years of age and older. Each year, the Mazin Art Exhibition fosters an appreciation of today’s visual arts and reflects the breadth and artistic vision of local artists. Cash prizes have been awarded every year to the three top pieces of artwork as decided by the exhibit’s elected juror.

Bernice Mazin was a prolific artist throughout her life with a diverse spectrum of pieces shown throughout her career. The Benjamin and Bernice Mazin Visual Juried Annual Art Exhibition was established in 1999 by Bernice in memory of her husband, Benjamin. Judy Hummel, their daughter, said. “My mother was always trying to inspire people to pursue art and she wanted to create an annual art exhibition to give new and established artists a venue for exhibiting their work.”

J Arts and Ideas is proud to have hosted the Mazin exhibition for so many years. Although we are unable to hold a 20/2021 Exhibition, we are excited to take a look back at our 2019 collection of artwork. We will be sharing artwork from 18 local artists who submitted work for last year’s exhibit. Please take a moment to “take a stroll in our gallery” each week as we add new artists. Welcome to Mazin Memories!
