Fire Up Your Imagination During Winter Break

Kids may be out of school for winter break, but that does not mean that they should sit at home in front of a television. The JCC of Louisville is offering an “All the Things You Can Think” themed winter camp December 19-January 2.

”Each day is centered around a fun book. Our challenge will be to bring the books to life by solving a mystery or participating in science experiments with Mad Science,” says Julie Hollander, senior director of youth services. “Kids will also be active by trying to break Guinness World Records in jump rope and shooting hoops.”

All the Things You Can Think Camp is open to children in Preschool-5th grade with themed days ranging from “I Spy With My Little Eye” to “Science is All Around.” Camp is available from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Everyday includes sports, arts and crafts and a snack with swimming daily for children in Kindergarten –5th grade. Kids can sign up for individual days of camp to fit parents’ schedules the best.

Specialty camps run for two or three days and are open to Kindergarten through 8th grade. The camps include digital photography and scrapbooking to recycled sculptures to Lego space adventures. Specialty camps run from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with extended day options available until 3 p.m. Snacks are provided.
