Tikkun Ley’l Shavuot joint-synagogue observance

May 23, 2015 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Celebrate Shavuot with Adath Jeshurun, Keneseth Israel and Temple Shalom at a join-synagogue observance. Shavuot began as a harvest festival, but it also commemorates the anniversary of the giving of the Ten Commandments to Moses and the Israelites at Mt. Sinai. Shavuot, which means “weeks,” refers to the timing of the festival which is held exactly seven weeks after Passover. Customs include eating dairy foods and reading the Book of Ruth. Just as the Israelites stayed up late the night before receiving the Ten Commandments, we do too, but we do it with refreshments, learning and songs. Celebrate Shavuot with your friends from Adath Jeshurun, Keneseth Israel and Temple Shalom at a join program sponsored by all three synagogues. Come and enjoy a creative service and a wonderful evening of dairy treats and great discussions!
