Pair the love of reading with food with a Hanukkah literature + cooking class!
The Sticky Fingers Cooks + Books series combines kids’ love of storytime with their excitement and eagerness to get in the kitchen! A highly experienced, passionate, creative and dedicated chef instructor will join us virtually while everyone remains in the familiarity, safety and comfort of their own homes. Sticky Fingers Virtual Hanukkah Cooking class for PJ library families will be held Sunday, Dec. 13. A session for older kids, grades K to 4, will be held at 2 p.m. followed by a pre-K to 2 session at 4 p.m.
  • The chef instructor will read the selected book, or a passage from the book, then guide your kids/families through a recipe from the comfort & safety of their own homes
  • A welcome letter will be sent to participants in advance which includes: the recipe, an equipment checklist and a shopping list
  • Parent assistance may be required depending on the child’s age and skill level

Book: Happy Llamakkah! By Laura Gehl & illustrated by Lydia Nichols
Recipe: Super Sweet Potato Doughnut Holes + Apple Cider Glaze + Hot Spicy Cider

Ages 3-5: How does a family of llamas celebrate Hanukkah? With Lllamakah, of course! Laura Gelb’s tender rhyming verse is perfect for cozying up with the endearing little llamas as they light the Hanukkah menorah, play dreidel and build a snow-llama. Lydia Nichols’ cheerful illustrations brighten the pages.

The class is free with advance registration, but it is limited to 12 families per session. Families will receive a shopping list prior to the class.
