JFCS Young Adult Service Project

FreeVIALou (Volunteers in Action-Louisville) is JFCS’ new young adult volunteer corps which will focus on monthly service projects that connect the 18 values that underscore the work at JFCS. Projects will benefit both JFCS and community organizations. Our first project connect us to the values of Gmilut Chasidim and Rachamim ( Acts of loving kindness and compassion) by supporting the efforts to help those who need support through physical goods and Halbanat Panim (Avoidance of Humiliating someone in public) by ensuring that people in Louisville have access to clothing and household items that uplift their sense of self-worth and dignity.
This Sunday from 4:30-6:30 PM we will be helping Guiding Light Islamic Center organize and catalog donations for their new distribution center and closet which provides clothing, household, and kitchen items, and kitchen appliances for those in need within the Louisville community.
If you have gently used clothes, shoes, or blankets to donate, please feel free to bring them with you!
