“Etty,” An Untold Story of the Holocaust Comes to Louisville

January 28, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Temple Shalom invites  the Greater Louisville Community to join us for a one-woman play and audience dialogue based on the diaries and letters of Esther “Etty” Hillesum, a 29 year-old Dutch Jewish woman who lived, and perished, during the Holocaust.

Adapted and performed by Susan Stein and directed by acclaimed actor, director and playwright Austin Pendleton, this gripping one-woman play is a portrait of Etty’s struggle to declare her humanity in the face of Nazi Brutality. “If I should not survive, how I die will show me who I really am,” Etty states.

The production, for adults and high school students, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to 502-458-4739 or to information@templeshalomky.org.
