AJ’s Shabbat Learning Series – Listen & Learn – 10:00 AM Shabbat service – 10:40 AM Program. Guest speaker, Sarah Baron. Topic: “Standing up for Reproductive Freedom.”
As part of he NCJW’s “Repro Shabbat”, AJ member, Sarah Baron will be serving as AJ’s Listen & Learn guest speaker today. Sarah is one of three plaintiffs who filed a lawsuit against the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office in 2022 seeking to block Kentucky’s abortion restrictions based on the Jewish faith and the vagueness of Kentucky’s reproductive laws. Sarah will speak about her reaction to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and provide an overview of the lawsuit. Additionally, Sarah will discuss current Kentucky abortion laws and their real impact on women’s lives. She will provide insight into what prompted the three plaintiffs to file their lawsuit. Sara is a member of the AJ Board of Trustees. She is married to Dustin Baron, and their daughters are fifth-generation members of AJ.
