This evenings broadcast is “Dennis Ross in Conversation with Ethan Bronner: The US-Israel Relationship, from Truman to Obama”. Dennis Ross has been a direct participant in shaping US policy towards Israel and the Middle East for nearly 30 years. In his new book, Doomed to Succeed, he takes us through every administration, from Truman to Obama. Hear what he has to say about those – including Eisenhower, Nixon, Bush and Obama – that distanced the United States from Israel, how it never yielded any benefits and how future administrations might best shape US policy in the light of understanding the priorities of Arab leaders.
