Gain a new perspective on hunger in America
More than 43,000 families in our community live on less than $30 per family member for food each week. Can you do it?
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program -SNAP_ offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families. Formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net.

Your Food Budget for the Week:
$30/ 1 person
$45/ 2 people
$60/ 3 people
$75/ 4 people
Take the SNAP Challenge:
All food purchased and eaten during the week including fast food and dining out must be included in the total spending. The cost of oils, spices, and condiments you already own are not included. Avoid accepting free food from family, friends, co-workers, receptions or business events.
Shop the SNAP Challenge:
Spend $30 to purchase food for the JFCS Food Pantry for one week’s worth of meals. Take a photo of your purchases and receipts and bring your items to the JFCS Food Pantry during the week.
