Actions Speak Louder than Guns: A conversation about ending gun violence
June 28, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeOn June 28 at 6:30 p.m., we will be hosting a very special virtual program dedicated to an issue that affects all of us: the deadly scourge of gun violence that is plaguing our inner cities. The statistics are terrible and we all have a role to play in addressing the problem. We will hear from Billy Moore, author of Until the Lion Speaks and community activist who, after being incarcerated for a horrific crime, has dedicated his life to leading a citywide effort in Chicago to reduce gun violence. We will also hear from Christopher 2X, Louisville “Gamechanger,” who is creating partnerships across the city in addressing this issue. This program will be moderated by Alice Houston, community leader, philanthropist, and the winner of the 2021 Jewish Federation Blanche B. Ottenheimer Award given to leaders who have dedicated their lives to repairing the world.
