Young Adults Relax at Pre-Rosh Hashanah Happy Hour Event

Sometimes it’s nice to set aside time to get together with others your own age for a purely social event. On September 2, that just what the younger members of the Jewish Community of Louisville’s (JCL) Young Adult Division (YAD) did.

About 25 people in their 20’s and early 30’s gathered at Bluegrass Brewing Co. for a Pre-Rosh Hashanah Happy Hour. Vegetarian appetizers were provided, and those in attendance purchased their own drinks as they celebrated the upcoming Jewish New Year.

Even though the event was primarily social, those in attendance performed the mitzvah of feeding the hungry by bringing canned goods for the Jewish Family & Career Services’ Sonny and Janet Meyer Food Pantry.

There was also a raffle for a three-month membership to the Jewish Community Center.

This event was co-sponsored by the JCL’s Young Adult Division group for people in their 20’s and early 30’s and The Temple.
