On September 7, Jewish young adults gathered at Caffe Classico to meet and hear from some Kentucky politicians while enjoying drinks and appetizers and socializing. They heard from State Senator Morgan McGarvey, former Kentucky State Treasurer Jonathan Miller and State Senator Brad Metaclf.
All of the politicians shared their backgrounds and explained how they shaped their personal philosophies in regards to politics. The crowd was especially interested in hearing Miller’s experience as a Jewish politician and his former experience of being president of NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth).
Subjects discussed included: the economy, student debt, and health care. The event was organized by the Temple’s Young Adult Group and the Jewish Federation of Louisville’s YAD Group.
