YAD Members Bake for Ronald McDonald House

Members of the Jewish Community of Louisville’s Young Adult Division (YAD) geared towards young Jewish adults in their twenties and early thirties started a new week by putting on their aprons and baking gloves to bake cookies and other tasty treats for families at the Ronald McDonald House, on Sunday, June 6. Participants were given a tour of the facility, and then enjoyed lunch at Toast on Market.

The event was a joint program with the Temple and YAD members in their twenties and early thirties, which had been coordinated by Emilie Shapero and Tzivia Levin. According to Shapero this is the first of several social service events and projects that she and other members had developed with Rabbi David Ariel-Joel of the Temple.

“It was an important thing to do for Tikkun Olam by helping others”, said Levin. YAD gives a special thanks out to the Temple for allowing them to use their kitchen facilities.
