We Won! Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation to Receive a New Minivan from Toyota

Thanks to the Community for Voting on July 14

It’s official. The Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation has won a Toyota Sienna minivan from the Toyota 100 Cars for Good initiative. The Foundation was one of 500 finalists in the program that awards non-profit organizations with a new minivan.

On Thursday, July 14, the Foundation competed for votes against four other non-profit organizations across the country. The Foundation was the top runner all day long.

The van will be used by Our Lady of Peace to transport children undergoing treatment there to off-site appointments, family visits and other similar needs. It will replace an older van with over 300,000 miles.
The contest took place online through Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good page on Facebook at Facebook.com/Toyota.

“We want to thank the whole community for their support and voting for us yesterday,” said Sherri Craig, executive director of the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation. “Children and adolescents make up about 75 percent of the patients at Our Lady of Peace. We will use this new minivan for our kids.”

Our Lady of Peace is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of child/adolescent inpatient psychiatric care in the country.

Editor’s note: the Louisville Zoo also won a new vehicle from Toyota.
