Van Ginkel to Speak at NCJW Meeting

National Council of Jewish Women, Louisville Section, will have its closing meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, May 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Rivue Restaruant in the Galt House Hotel.

The guest speaker will be Judith B. Van Ginkel, Ph.D., author of Life Begins and Ends with Girlfriends. Sue Paul and Beth Salamon will be honored as emerging leaders.

Dr. Van Ginkel is known as a passionate, dedicated advocate for the wellbeing of women, children and the underserved.In 1999, she founded and became president of Every Child Succeeds, an $8 million program that serves first-time mothers through home visitation, offering guidance for them and, enabling them to provide safe, nurturing, stimulating experiences for their children during their first years of life.

In 2010, Dr. Van Ginkel became one of five people to receive the Purpose prize, a prestigious national award given to individuals over age 60 who combine their passion and experience in extraordinary ways to solve tough social problems.

Tickets for the luncheon are $24. Free parking is available.
