Rules, Terms & Policies

Membership to the JCC is based on a twelve-month (12) commitment for the first year calculated from the date of enrollment. After 12 months, you will be automatically renewed indefinitely until we receive written notice, no later than midnight on the last day of each month.

Membership may only be canceled BEFORE the minimum term if you die, become seriously ill, permanently injured or medically disabled. The terms “seriously ill” or “permanently injured” or “medically disabled” shall mean such circumstances that would prevent you from using any of the JCC facilities. In such an event, the club shall have the right to request reasonable evidence in writing of the change if circumstances, i.e. Doctor Certificate. Membership may also be canceled if the member moves 25 miles away from his/her current residence or 50 miles away from the JCC.

If your membership is canceled BEFORE the minimum term, you will be charged a cancellation fee.

The JCC reserves the right to cancel or suspend your membership and request a return of the membership card at its discretion.

The JCC will issue NO REFUNDS for membership fees.

The JCC reserves the right to decline membership to anyone having medical conditions requiring any professional medical supervision.

The JCC urges all members to obtain a physical examination from their physicians prior to the use of any exercise equipment or attendance in any exercise class.

When joining the JCC, you acknowledge that the activities that you undertake have potential dangers and by participating you are exposed to certain risks. The JCC staff is not able to provide medical advice in regard to your fitness and any information you have provided is used only as a guideline to determine the limitations of your ability to exercise. The information is used to assist in the exercise prescription process and to prescribe an appropriate exercise program suited to your specific needs.

You assume the risk of, and the responsibility for, any injury, illness, death or property damage or loss resulting from your participation in any activities including, without limitation, the saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, weight equipment, fitness trail, pools and all sports facilities.

In consideration of the acceptance of your payment (or guest status) for participating in any activity (and except to the extent that the JCL may be precluded by statute), you agree to release and indemnify the JCL, its officers, directors and employees, from and against all and any actions or claims which may be made by you or on your behalf or by other parties arising out of any injury, loss, damage or death caused to you or your property whether by negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever.

You agree that in the event that you are injured or your property is lost or damaged, you will release and hold harmless and bring no claim, legal or otherwise, against the JCC or its officers, directors and employees, in respect of that injury, loss or damage which may arise from participation in any Louisville JCL program.
