Camp schedules will be adjusted when camp reopens to accommodate official regulations and campers’ safety. Actual schedules TBD.
Get Up Gang (Before Care) Drop-Off
Campers participating in Get up Gang, 7:30-9:00 a.m. will be dropped off at the Olam (the former synagogue adjacent to the J). Campers must be registered for Get Up Gang in advance.
Carpool will begin at 8:45 a.m. and will end promptly at 9:00 a.m. All cars will enter the drive of the Olam and proceed to the drop-off cones by morning circle. A counselor will get your camper from the car and take them to their group. To keep the carpool line moving, if you wish to speak to a staff member, please park your car in the lot, and walk your child over to their group.
If you arrive after 9 a.m., please walk your child to morning circle. If you arrive after 9:15 or after morning circle has concluded, please bring your camper to the Camp Office in the J. Any child arriving at camp before 8:45 a.m. must be enrolled in the Get up Gang program. It greatly helps the safety and flow of carpool if all children are in the back seat and exit vehicles from the driver side of the car.
Morning circle starts at 9:00 am. We join together in announcements and song that are sung in both English and Hebrew. If it’s your child’s birthday, please let a counselor know and we will have the group join in with a happy birthday song to start your child’s day.
Camper Pick Up
On the Camp J Pick-up Authorization Form, please indicate how your camper will be picked up. Every family must pick up an official Camp J Carpool Number after completing registration. Numbers may be picked up in the camp office (Room 111 @ the J) on or after June 1st (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or at Camp J Kick-Off on Thursday, June 4th. If you cannot pick-up during these times call the camp office at (502) 238-2718 to make other arrangements. We will only issue 2 carpool window tags per family. Carpool numbers must be displayed on the front windshield with number facing out. If you are picking up another child, please make sure your name is listed on their pick-up authorization in their camp registration or a written note is submitted to the camp office. No child will be released to anyone without a number and proper identification. If different arrangements are made for your camper(s) than what is on the carpool form, the Camp Office must have written notice signed and dated by the custodial parent/legal guardian. Identification will be requested before children are released. Safety is our top priority. No child will be released without authorization!
Walk-In 4 p.m. Pick Up
Families may opt to pick up by walking in to pick up campers at the Olam (the former synagogue adjacent to the J). Adult picking up will need to check in with the Dismissal Coordinator and show carpool number (or photo identification). Your camper(s) will be brought to the sign out table from the carpool groups. Due to feedback we will not be offering a separate “walk-in” pick up option. Campers will all be kept in their camp groups for carpool unless they are enrolled in Stay & Play.
Stay & Play Pick Up
Campers will receive a snack and participate in fun and exciting activities from 4-6 p.m. To pick up, please identify yourself to the Camp dismissal coordinator at the sign out table and your child will be brought to you. Identification will be requested before children are released. Do not go directly to the Stay & Play area to get your camper(s)! For their safety, they must be signed out with the dismissal coordinator before release.
