
Senior Trip to Savannah, Georgia
March 4 – 9, 2024
Dear Seniors,
Pack your bags, we are planning a trip to Savannah, Jekyll Island and Beaufort, South Carolina in 2024! Below, you’ll find a flyer provided by Diamond Tours, our partner in group travel. You’ll also find information regarding travel insurance that is highly recommended to purchase in case you must cancel your trip.
We still need a minimum of 30 people for our trip. You do not need to be a member of the Trager Family JCC or a Senior. Bring a friend! Bring a loved one! Let’s fill up our bus!
Deposits are due by December 8, with the final payment due December 27. We hope you will decide to travel with us in March.

• $75.00 deposit secures your reservation on the trip. Please make check payable to Trager Family JCC.
• $72.00 separate payment for travel insurance. Please make check payable to Travel Insured International.
Due Dec. 27:
• Full payment due. Please make checks payable to Trager Family JCC.

Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is a separate cost and is not required, however, it is highly recommended to purchase in case you must cancel your trip. The check for the insurance should be made out to Travel Insured International. Do not include this amount with the cost of the trip. Insurance payment must be made at the same time as you make your deposit for the trip.
Insurance Cost: $72 for Senior Social Club Members & Non-members, regardless of single or double occupancy.
Itinerary
We will depart from the Trager Family Jewish Community Center at 8 a.m. in a spacious, video and restroom-equipped Motorcoach and set off for beautiful Savannah, Georgia.
Day 1: Depart in a spacious, video and restroom-equipped Motorcoach and set off for beautiful Savannah, GA. This evening you will stay at an en-route hotel.
Day 2: After a Continental Breakfast you will continue to head toward your destination. Today, you will arrive in charming and historic Savannah. Enjoy free time on historic River Street, featuring unique 18th-century “ballast stone” streets and 19th-century cotton warehouses that are now home to fine eateries, unusual shops and antique galleries. Tonight, you’ll enjoy Dinner with Entertainment before checking into your Savannah area hotel for a three-night stay.
Day 3: After enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will depart for a Guided Tour of St. Simons Island. Take a stroll among moss-draped oaks or shop at the interesting boutiques and specialty shops in the historic area. Later, you’ll take a Guided Tram Tour of Jekyll Island. See how the nation’s wealthiest citizens like J.P. Morgan and William Rockefeller lived and played – Including a stop at what was once the exclusive “Millionaires Club.” After Dinner, you’ll enjoy an evening show at the Famous Savannah Theatre, then return to your hotel to rest for the next fun-filled day.
Day 4: Today, after a Continental Breakfast, enjoy a Guided Tour of Magnificent Beaufort, SC – “Queen of the Carolina Sea Islands”. Beaufort’s history dates as far back as the 1500’s. Its striking mansions and scenery served as the backdrop for several major motion pictures including ”The Big Chill” and “Forrest Gump”. You’ll also tour the Parris Island Marine base, where 22,000 men and women complete their training each year. Highlights of your tour include the lwo Jima Monument, Parade Field and the Parris Island Museum. Tonight, enjoy a nice Dinner before returning to your hotel for the evening.
Day 5: After enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will enjoy a Guided Trolley Tour of Savannah, the “Belle of Georgia.” You’ll see extraordinary architectural marvels, beautiful oak-lined streets and lovely “town squares.” You will then have Hop-On/Hop-Off Privileges on the Trolley for the rest of the day. Later, you will depart and check into your en-route hotel for a good night’s rest.
Day 6: Today, after enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will depart for home … a perfect time to chat with your friends about all the fun things you’ve done, the great sights you’ve seen, and where your next group trip will take you!
