The Temple’s Annual Interfaith Summer Peace Concert, a night of ethnic music, dancing and food, is slated for Sunday, August 27, 6 p.m., in the Waller Chapel.
This year’s program will feature Shir Chadash, the Temple’s choir, led by Dr. Louie Bailey; the Saudi Students’ Organization of Bowling Green, performing traditional Saudi dance; Masoud Farokhi, a scholar of the 13th century Persian poet Rumi; and Mohammed Al’ani, playing the Oud — a pear-shaped string instrument commonly played in the Middle East.
Admission to the concert is free. A Middle Eastern dinner will follow the show at 7:30 p.m.; the cost is $10 per person (children 12 and under are free). RSVPs are required by Wednesday, August 23, but there is a $5 early reservation discount for those who sign up by August 16.
Call (502) 423-1818 for reservations.
