Sen. Rand Paul Disparages the President with a Derogatory Term, the Jewish Community Responds

On Friday, May 8, 2012, Sen. Rand Paul responded to President Obama’s recent statements in support of same-sex marriage with some harsh and disrespectful language. Through a personal letter to Sen. Paul from Jewish Community of Louisville’s President/CEO Stu Silberman, we let it be known to Senator Paul that while we respect his right to a different opinion on the issue of gay marriage, his use of language offended the many thousands in Kentucky who feel differently about this issue than he does. We encourage Sen. Paul and all elected officials to refrain from using divisive language and to promote civility in government by being respectful of differing points of view.
