You can now check out a remarkable new resource from the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) that allows people to search deep inside JDC’s massive, newly digitized collection of World War II era documents and photographs.
Holocaust survivors and their families can determine if a person’s name appears among the over 500,000 Jews listed in materials now posted by JDC from its work rescuing Jews during and after the War. Documents can be viewed and downloaded. You can also browse over 1,500 photos from the DP camps and other places where “The Joint” worked during and after the Shoah. You may then be able to help JDC identify the people in the photos.
