Pizza in the Hut Was Family Fun

What could be better than starting the fall season off by hanging out in the Sukkah with friends and family? On Sunday, September 26, more than 85 people gathered under the Sukkah at the Jewish Community Center to do just that. JCL Teen Director David Siskin observed that the participants enjoyed craft projects, great food and even an edible hut contest.

Families and friends gathered inside the Sukkah and around the Family Park at the JCC to relax, and spend the holiday together. Children spent time with Resource Center Director Betsy Prussian working on craft projects, while parents mingled with each other.

Pizza in the Hut was a great way to come together as a community and celebrate the great holiday of Sukkot. The Frockts, one family that participated, said they are very appreciative of the Jewish Community of Louisville for hosting this event and were excited about the great turn out.

Gabrielle Kronenberg built the edible hut and decorated it with icing, sprinkles, M & M’s, and much more.  All of the children who participated in the contest won silly bands for their hard work.
