Mother’s Circle

Mother’s Circle, a program of the Jewish Community of Louisville, is an education and support program for mothers of different faiths who have chosen to raise their children Jewish. It provides a warm and welcoming environment that encourages non-Jewish mothers to talk with one another and navigate life as a mother in a Jewish family.

If you’ve been looking for a way to integrate into the Jewish faith, this program can give you the tools and toolkit for providing a Jewish home. The Mother’s Circle course provides an introduction to Jewish practices and ethics, Jewish resources, hands-on education and a connection to one another and the Jewish community in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

Following a curriculum designed by the Jewish Outreach Institute, the program includes engaging lessons such as “Getting Acquainted,” “Making Jewish Choices,” Effective Jewish Parenting,” “From Mitzvah to Mensch” and “Making a Jewish Home.” It also covers the Jewish holidays of Chanukah, Shabbat, Purim, Passover, and the High Holidays. Finally, it addresses Jewish life cycle and how to answer tough questions children may ask.
