Louisville.com Covers CenterStage’s Next to Normal

Mental illness forms the center of the regional premiere Next to Normal, which will open for Centerstage this Thursday.

Next to Normal will take place on Sept. 6, 8, 10, 13, and 15 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Shows on Sept. 9 will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. while the show on Sept. 16 is to happen at 2 p.m.  All performances will go on at Centerstage, located in the Jewish Community Center of Louisville at 3600 Dutchmans Lane in the Highlands.

Tickets for each show are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.  All tickets can be purchased at the door, online at the Centerstage website, or by calling JCC at 502-459-0660.  More information on Next to Normal can also be found by going to the Centerstage website.

Love and family are tested in the rock musical Next to Normal.  Diana Goodman seems like your typical suburban mother, at first.  However, she becomes more and more mentally unstable, leading to a doctor’s office visit and a change in her medication.  The new medication works…until Diana decides to stop taking it.
