Louisville Hebrew School Graduates 107th Class

The Louisville Hebrew School celebrated its 107th graduation at Keneseth Israel Synagogue on Sunday, May 1, at a Mincha service led by the 12 proud members of the Vav Class of 5771. Karen Bass, LHS president and Craig Lustig, vice president, presented a number of awards to the outstanding students in each grade.

Vav Class Awards included: The Herman and O.H. Landau Memorial Award for Proficiency in Hebrew (Top Hebrew Award) to sisters Jennifer and Rebecca Davis; the Rose Sherman Memorial Award for Excellence in Hebrew to Amanda Berman and Christina Gist-Stoler; and the Charles D. Levitch Award for Achievement in Hebrew to Caitlin Mulliken. The Marilyn Berman Memorial Award for Excellence in Hebrew (Hay Class) went to Sarah Ward; the Anita Zeiden Award (Alef Class) to Kate Frey and Madison Monsky; and the Margie Kohn/Joanie Lustig Past President’s Award to Daniel Lazar.

Agudath Achim Class Awards included: Mechina (pre-Hebrew School) Class to Daniel Greenberg; Alef Class Award to Zach Felsen and Connor Gordon; Bet Class Award to Tovah Frockt, Amy Niren and Emily Callam; Gimmel Class Award to Julia Bessen and Saralee Renick; Dallet Class Award to Whitney Haines and Hey Class Award to Daniel Gueta.

Students in the graduating class included: Jacob Berdichevsky, son of Dimitry and Emma Berdichevsky; Amanda Ber-man, daughter of Gregory and Ellyn Berman; Jennifer and Rebecca Davis, daughters of Myrle Davis; Christina Gist-Stoler, granddaughter of Barry and Sandra Stoler; Hannah Hubscher, daughter of Charles and Lori Hubscher; Daniel Lazar, son of Maureen Sullivan; Caitlin Mulliken, daughter of Cynthia Mulliken; Pamela Niren, daughter of Howell and Ann Niren; Da-niela Reuter, daughter of Eugene and Diana Reuter; Elana Wagner, daughter of Howard and Sara Wagner and Emily Wolff, daughter of Jonathan and Stephi Wolff.
