Louisville Beit Sefer Yachad, the Louisville Hebrew School, has hired a new director, Rabbi David Feder, who will start work on September 1. He will work with the current director, Sam Gordon, until Gordon retires in December.
There will be a parent orientation for LBSY on Saturday, August 29, at 7 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center and classes will begin on Wednesday, September 5.
Sunday classes for kindergarten through fifth grade will meet at the JCC. Sixth, seventh and eighth grades will meet at Temple Shalom. On Wednesdays, third through seventh grades will meet at the JCC.
The school will continue to use the Institute for Southern Jewish Leadership curriculum that was introduced last year and was well received by parents and clergy.
