Keneseth Israel Concert November 13

Keneseth Israel is kicking off its 5772 major events programming with its annual concert  Sunday, November 13, at 7 pm.

This year’s theme is Shira v ‘Simcha, a community evening of song and celebration.  “Unity” is the unique element as, for the first time in Louisville, clergy from all area synagogues will be sharing the stage to display their talents.

The opening act will be the Kinder Choir presenting special selections.

And if you think you’ll be seeing double, that will almost the case.  Cantor Eric Wasser, twin brother of Keneseth Israel’s Rabbi Joel Wasser, is this year’s featured performer.  Cantor Wasser comes to Louisville from Congregation B’Nai Israel of Fairlawn, NJ.

He feels right at home on both the bimah and the stage. Cantor Wasser is a past president of the Midwest Region of the Cantors Assembly and voted one of the “Top Jews in Chicago” by the Jewish Federation of Chicago.  And while in the Windy City he was the opening act for, among others, Bill Cosby and Dennis Miller.

You can save by ordering your tickets in advance.  They are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.  At the door the tickets will be $18 and $12 respectively. Your check is your reservation. Mail to Keneseth Israel, 2531 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40205.

Following the concert, please stay for a dessert reception of homemade specialties from the Keneseth Catering Committee.
